Our services are offered to assist youth, and/or their families involved in the legal process, whether it be Criminal, Family, Civil or Youth Court. Elders are very important members of Indigenous communities; and their input regarding sharing traditional teachings, ceremonies, and healing practices is highly regarded. Elders have earned the right to pass this knowledge on to others and to give advice and guidance on personal issues, as well as on issues affecting their communities and nations. Indigenous peoples value their Elders and address them with the utmost respect.
As Elders, our role in the court room would be to support the defendant/plaintiff; as well as, all officers of the court with cultural teachings, navigation of the legal aid process, assisting in resourcing services, such as housing, medical assistance, mental health services, and any additional cultural services that may be applicable. ESIP are not employees of any government organization rather, “Elders” have been contracted by The Ministry of Children and Family Development for several years. We have been assisting in helping Indigenous families and staff, in several capacities; one of which, is court proceedings.
Consulting services for dispensaries and patients, involves each patient engaging in a brief consultation, determining their needs and which forms of cannabis strain, dosage and products would be the most effective form of therapy. This education is invaluable, as history dictates that a patient/client getting the wrong information, leads to the consumption of a strain/product that is not right for the client. The-end-result, a client over medicates and experiences a negative effect. This leads to the patient not wanting to return to using cannabis as a form of therapy, resulting in a loss of effective and safe treatment for patients. It has been proven that a large dynamic of patients is more receptive to a professional consultant than a front-end bud tender. Our vision is to provide wellness education on natural therapy alternatives.
With the legalization of Cannabis, the client dynamic has changed dramatically; a large variety of patients, who are not recreational users, are now seeking a reputable dispensary, with access to knowledge regarding cannabis and which of your products are going to support their medicinal needs. This large dynamic of clientele is more receptive to information, and product education by a practitioner versus a bud tender. Our services are all virtual, all you need is a tablet with WiFi.
